NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Cork County Council is considering under Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993, the closing to public traffic of the following road for the dates and for the times stated:-

Laying of Effluent Rising Main Drain – L1021 Allens Bridge to Ahane Cross Roads, Newmarket

From Monday 4th September 2017 to Friday 29th September 2017

(24 Hour Closure)

Road to be closed:

L-1021 Between Allens Bridge junction with R576 & Ahane Cross Roads

Alternative Routes:

Traffic travelling from Allens Bridge to Clongeel

Option A

Continue along R576 towards Kanturk Town. Continue into Kanturk Town and at mini roundabout turn right onto R579 (over the bridge) and continue along Main Street which then leads onto Percival Street (L-1028). Continue on the L-1028 out of Kanturk Town until Clongeel Crossroads. At Clongeel cross roads turn right on L-1021 towards Newmarket. Continue on L-1021 to Ahane Crossroads

Option B

Continue along R576 towards Newmarket Town. Continue into Newmarket Town. At the West end keep left at the Y in the road onto the L-1018 towards Boherbue. Continue along the L-1018 & L-1033 to Gortearagh Cross. At Gortearagh Cross turn left onto the L-1036 and continue to Clongeel Crossroads. At Clongeel Crossroads turn left onto L-1021 towards Newmarket. Continue on L-1021 to Ahane Crossroads

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that this proposed closure is to facilitate Laying of Effluent Rising Main Drain

Any person interested may lodge an objection in writing to the closing of these roads, with the undersigned not later than Tuesday 15th August 2017 at 5pm.
