Tramore Ladies Slip Temporary Closure

Notice is hereby given that Waterford City & County Council will close the Ladies Bathing Slip, for 1 week, from 8am Monday 18th September to 12am midnight on Sunday 24th September, 2017 to facilitate essential emergency upgrading works to the Storm Water Drainage system. Pedestrians can access Beach from the Men’s Slip or Boats Slip.

Peace IV Programme Funding Call

Peace IV Programme Funding Call

Peace IV Funding Opportunity – Capital and Programme streams.

The application process for County Monaghan Peace IV grants is open from Friday 1st September to Friday 27th October. Funding of up to €30,000 is available for Capital works and up to €75,000 for Programmes.

Through the PEACE IV Programme, Monaghan County Council /Peace Partnership Board/LCDC wish to support projects that promote social inclusion, combat poverty and discrimination and make a lasting difference in building greater cohesion between communities. In particular, projects should be able to demonstrate how they will foster enhanced peace and reconciliation. PEACE IV will place a strong emphasis on promoting cross-community relations and understanding. All successful projects will be required to identify how they will contribute towards the achievement of the result indicators of the Programme in order to promote a greater level of reconciliation and understanding.

  • Details: As a lasting legacy of the Carlow Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme, this innovative and unique contemporary stained glass mural illustrates a Carlow narrative showing some key Carlow figures such as Micheál O’Hanrahan who grew up on Tullow Street and Nurse Margaret Kehoe from Leighlinbridge who lost her life on Easter Monday 1916, and tells of the role they played in 1916. Rich in symbolism the piece was created by Peadar Lamb, an artist working primarily in the medium of stained glass for over twenty years, using hand-made glass and a variety of techniques which have changed little over the centuries. Well worth a visit, Admission to the Museum as always is free! Opening Hours: Monday - Saturday 10.00am - 4.30pm
